The Quebec Financial Planning Institute (IQPF) is the only organization in Quebec authorized to award the diploma of financial planner and to establish the rules relating to the continuing education of its graduates. Only professionals who have graduated from the Institut québécois de planification financière are authorized to use the title of financial planner. The IQPF is also the only group reserved exclusively for financial planners.

SFE&PD is the brainchild of Theodore “Ted” Daniels, who realized that many Americans, especially underserved populations and first-generation college students, did not have access to financial knowledge to manage their finances. Using his expertise in financial management, Daniels started a financial literacy nonprofit to address this issue and teach financial management skills to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
